Finding the SkyBus



The Skybus leaves from outside terminals 1 and 3 of the airport. You will find a ticket booth located at both of these terminals were you can buy a ticket via cash or card. The Bus leaves every 20 minutes or so, and runs 24 hours.

The Skybus runs directly to Southern Cross Station. Southern Cross Station is located on the corner of Spencer St. and Collins St. in the CBD. If you arrive between 7am and 9pm you can catch the Sky-shuttle which will drop you at our doors (included in the initial ticket price of $16).

Finding Urban Central



You can also walk, catch a tram or a taxi to the hostel from the station.

Walk: When you exit the Skybus terminal turn right, cross over Collins St. and follow Spencer st. for about 10 minutes. You will pass Flinders St. walk under the overpass, over the river past Crown Casino and then we are a block past Whiteman St. next to the BP service station opposite McDonalds.

Tram: When you exit the Skybus terminal turn right and walk towards the corner or Collins st. and Spencer st. Cross over Spencer St. to the 'Gloria Jeans' coffee shop. Walk up Collins st. about 20 meters and you will see a tram stop in the middle of the road near 'Krispy Kreme'. You will need to be on the 'Krispy Kreme' side of the tram stop. Get on the tram that says '112 St. Kilda'. You will need to buy a Zone 1, 2 hour, Full Fare ticket from the machine located on the tram. Just after you pass Crown Casino pull the toggle to notify the tram driver that you would like to get off. Get off the tram at the stop outside McDonalds. You will find us on the opposite corner beside the BP service station.
From Tullamarine Airport

Skybus can be caught outside any terminal. Purchase tickets on board $16 one way, $26 return. Trip time to Southern Cross Station approx 20 minutes. Transfer to Skybus hotel shuttle for Urban Central, or walk to the main station entrance and catch tram 112 on Collins St (in front of Krispy Kreme Donuts), heading to St Kilda Fitzroy Street. Get off at the 5th stop,126, at City Rd, in front of McDonalds. Urban Central is across the road from McDonalds.

By Car
Approx 22kms. Follow signs to Melbourne via Tullamarine Freeway. Continue on to City Link, take City, South Eastern Suburbs turn off at end of Bolte Bridge. Stay in left lanes and take next exit, Montague Street. Turn right onto Montague Street, then left onto City Road. If you use the Citylink, you will have to pay a toll.

City Link Pass required. Call 13 26 29. Payment can be made 1 day prior to or 3 days after travel.
